Welcome to my blog. I created this blog to continue my journey as an Instructional Designer at Walden University. You will find a great deal of information of my course work at Walden University. Also, you can join my site.
I'm looking forward to working with you in EDUC-6145, Project Management in Education and Training. Despite a somewhat bumpy start over the challenges of discussion participation, I am as eager as ever to engage with all of my fellow students in this course. I am very proud to be a student at Walden University and a part of the revolution in education. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this extraordinary learning community and I am especially proud of and thankful for all the colleagues who contribute to my success here. I'm looking forward to working with you. I'm already subscribed to your blog from previous courses.
Katie – Thank you for your post. What is a “classified” conference room? I am curious about the work “classified”. For my response I am going to assume that you were the project team.
I agree that post-mortems can assist you to determine what the mistakes were and what you can learn from those mistakes. Post-mortems however can also identify what you did right and often that information is just as valuable.
I utilize matrix and checklist all the time for projects and tasks. It really helps me to visualize the potential gaps, delays, problem areas, etc. In short they help me to stay on task and monitor the progression of the project. It seems that if you had more communication with your supervisor earlier on than maybe the consideration you missed might have been noticed. I always work to maintain open lines of communications and keep my supervisor up to date. We have weekly team meetings that often result in greater understand, appreciation and a better end product through the input given by our small team of 6. We always know what everyone is doing and when help might be needed.
